Juvenile Rehabilitation

It is the common notation seen that most of the criminals or people who are committing crimes, are a product of their upbringing. In their early years, they were not taught properly by their parents or guardians about what is wrong and right. This concept is true in some cases. Also after research and studies it was seen that those criminals were once juveniles. It proved just the delinquency of a juvenile, if it is not addressed early, it may lead to some dangerous problems.

To solve this problem juvenile rehabilitation is there. Generally, it is viewed as a child's prison. But it is not true at all. The aims of juvenile rehabilitation are to correct their misdemeanor tendencies, so that they ca not become the threats for the society.

In the juvenile rehabilitation program, the adolescents are not only kept in the cages, but also they are taught to take part in various personality improvement schemes, and other programs.

Also there are several juvenile rehabilitation programs that request the child's parents to participate in the different programs. The participation of parents is the very important thing, because inculcation of moral values should come from home only. Also it make easier to the offenders to go back in the community as a responsible and honest individual.

The juvenile rehabilitation does not consist of any strict list of rules or methods. It is said to be "an art and not a science". This will indicate that every juvenile offender is unique that means different from another. The requirements of each and every offender are different as their misbehaving reasons are different. This means any program that works for one, may not work for the rest of the kids in imprisonment.

The rehabilitation programs for juvenile should not concentrate on an appropriating a budget for incarceration. Alternatively, it should allocate half of the budget for the alternative activities and programs that these kids can indulge in. So the numbers of juveniles are decreasing.

An effective transformation of offenders is to start rehabilitation earlier on them. If the rehabilitation is done in the early years of a child then there is a greater chance that he will not do wrong again. Likewise the cases of juveniles as well as adult criminals will be decreased.

Parents play a very important role in molding a child into a productive citizen. They should be taught about what is wrong or right in their early days. According to a passage in bible "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it". Children who are looking for a good future will get a great help from juvenile rehabilitation.
