This program can be given at outpatient facilities as well as inpatient rehabilitation facility. There are some therapists who attend to the patients and give them therapies at their homes as the therapists are private practitioners.
The time when the therapy is given at the rehabilitation center or hospital is important. You have to be prompt in giving the physical therapy to a person who has suffered from a sports injury or an accident. Once the pain is managed, the therapist can start with the physical therapy according to the requirements and nature of the injury. Depending on the injury, physical therapist takes help of occupational therapist, counselor, and speech therapist. Together the team works and supports the patient to get back to his or her normal lifestyle. There are some patients who require physical therapy immediately after a surgical procedure. This happens in cases of patients who have an artificial limb, joint problems, etc.
