Rehabilitation is a term used for the successful treatment of the patient so that he can very well perform his daily activities. The rehab procedure is a special scientifically developed process; if followed helps to make the patient independent.

  • A patient who is suffering from a disability but not in a position to afford the rehabilitation has to approach the organization that provides or supports rehabilitation services.
  • The organization which may either be a rehab center or a helping institute reviews the patient and decides whether or not the disability is curable through rehabilitation process.
  • After this, the organization decides the legitimacy of the case by considering different factors such as, the background of the person, family condition and the status of his disorder.
  • If all the aspects show the positive trend, then the patient is granted the rehabilitation service.
  • His admission is confirmed after doing the necessary paperwork.
  • After the admission, the patient is handed over to the rehabilitation team which generally consists of doctors, dietitians, nurses, helpers, exercise expert and psychologists. These professionals have to report about the rehabilitation progress to the organization that is providing the service.
  • After the rehabilitation is complete the patient's "Complete Body Analysis" is performed. If the results are good enough, the patient is discharged from the center; else he is advised to stay back in the center for some more days of treatment. After the discharge, the patient has to keep in contact with the organization as and when asked for.

Some rehabilitation service organizations also provide support to their patients in being financially independent after the rehabilitation process is over. They help the patients in getting placed where their physical disability will not affect their working ability. The financial independence is very important as it assures that the person does not prove a liability to his family. Also by starting his professional life, he can gel well with the society and hence lead a normal life.
