Cardiac Rehabilitation Services

Cardiac rehabilitation services are the rehab services provided related to heart disease or heart operation by the community focused organizations. The heart is one of the most important parts in the human body. Heart is responsible for the purification and pumping of the blood. There are four chambers in the human heart which are right atrium, left atrium, right ventricle and left ventricle. Along with these chambers, Pulmonary veins, Cardiac Valves and Pulmonary Artery constitutes the human heart. The damage or malfunction happening to any one of these parts can lead to a serious health problem. A severe problem results in the heart attack. A medium or low intensity heart attack results in severe chest pain and blockage in the respiratory functionality. But a heart attack with higher intensity mostly proves fatal. From this, we can understand that the heart disease must be taken very seriously.

Rehabilitation is a process which is scientifically developed in order to regain the capacity of injured or malfunctioning body part. Therefore the cardiac rehabilitation is a term used for the process, which is followed in order to regain the working ability of the heart to the full extent. Cardiac Rehabilitation services or commonly known as cardiac rehab services are the rehab help provided by the organizations to the needy people. This cardiac service is either charged for very nominal charges or sometimes depending on the case, it is given totally free of cost. These rehab services are either provided by the cardiac rehab providing organizations or the community organizations. Community organizations undertake the rehab case and pay the rehab center on the behalf of the patient.

Generally, the rehab services are available with two alternatives. First is residential cardiac rehab course and second the outpatient cardiac rehab course. In the residential course, the patient has to stay at the rehab center and undergo the rehab treatment. On the other hand, in the outpatient rehab course, the patient has to visit the rehab center every time for the treatment. The patient and his family has to decide which type of rehab service to be followed. Sometimes, if the patient has suffered from a severe heart attack, the cardiac physician suggests third type of rehab service named Inpatient Cardiac Rehab. In this type of rehab service, the rehab professionals visit the patient either in hospital or at his residence and treat him for the cardiac rehabilitation.

There are 4 stages of cardiac rehab namely Phase 1 to Phase 4. Phase 1 is always inpatient phase. For the phase 2 and phase 3, the patient is given the choice of above mentioned courses. The phase 4 is an ongoing phase; it is a series of instructions which the patient has to strictly follow throughout his life in order to avoid future cardiac complications.
