Outpatient Rehabilitation ServicesRehabilitation services are free of cost medical help given by the hospitals and rehabilitation centers to the patients who do not have good economical background and hence are not able to support their rehabilitation course financially. The organizations which provide these services are known as Rehabilitation Service Providers. In outpatient rehabilitation services, the patient has to approach the rehab centers for the treatment as and when asked for. The outpatient rehab services are available in cardiac rehabilitation, mental rehabilitation, physical rehabilitation, drug rehabilitation, alcohol rehabilitation, speech rehabilitation, occupational rehabilitation etc.
These rehab provider organizations may be the actual rehab centers or they may be the organizations who pay the rehab centers on the patient's behalf. These service providers generally provide different types of rehab services. The concept is that many rehabilitation centers are connected to the rehab service provider. If a person needs the help in his rehabilitation process he has to apply to the service providing organization. His family or a social worker can also apply to the organization on behalf of the patient. After receiving the application, the organization checks the authenticity of the case. Based on the analysis, they decide on accepting or rejecting the application. On acceptance of the case, they forward the patient to an appropriate rehabilitation center.
There are many rehab centers that provide both inpatient and outpatient rehab program to help patients recovering from different illnesses. There are generally three stages in the rehab procedure namely Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3. Phase one is always an inpatient phase i.e. the rehab personnel approach the patient and treat him. After the Phase 1 is over in the outpatient rehabilitation, the patient is expected to return to his place. For Phase 2 and Phase 3 he is expected to visit the rehab center. At the time of discharge from the hospital, the rehab professionals give an instruction manual to the patient. The manual includes exercise to be performed, diet to be followed, medicines to be taken and the time table of visits to the rehab center. The patient has to conduct the advised instructions strictly for the best results. When the patient approaches the rehab centers, the rehab experts check the patient and checks for improvement in the patient. According to the improvement seen, the experts teach or modify the exercises. Also the physician adjusts the dosage accordingly. By completing all the 3 phases of the outpatient rehab service, the patient always gets positive results and many a times, his disorder is totally cured.
Outpatient rehabilitation services have helped many people to recuperate quickly and return to their normal social and professional life. |
