  • The person who is in need of psych rehab service has to approach the organization that provides the free service. Patient's family members can also get in touch with the organization on the patient's behalf.
  • The patient has to submit all the documents as asked by the organization.
  • The organization personnel then investigate thoroughly about the genuineness of the case.
  • Based on the investigation results, the higher authorities take a decision about undertaking or refusing the case.
  • After undertaking a case, a social worker and a psychiatrist is assigned to the patient.
  • The psychiatrist first interviews the patient and starts studying the case. Till then the patient is advised some mental relaxation exercises and some meditation along with some tranquilizers in order to keep mind cool.
  • After studying the complete case, the psychologist finalizes the line of treatment and estimates the time required for the process.
  • The psychologist has to submit the case history and line of treatment to the organization.
  • The first step in rehab is to make the patient understand he has some sort of mental disability and that can be very well treated. This helps to boost the patient's confidence level and will to get over the issue. The social worker also helps in this procedure.
  • After this step, the actual rehab procedure of a year starts. The time may vary from person to person.
  • The patient is expected to meet the psychiatrist for discussion on a weekly basis for the first 3 months.
  • In these discussions, the psychiatrist helps the patient to understand his problems and explains the ways to overcome it.
  • In serious cases, the help of a hypnotist is taken for achieving high concentration level of the patient and hence faster recovery
  • After first phase is over, the patient is advised to visit the psychologist biweekly. In this phase, the psychologists lower the dosage of tranquilizers and instead he starts the sound therapy for mind and body relaxation.
  • This process continues for the next nine months and then according to the reports the patient is allowed to mix with the society slowly.
